Exodus: The Story Thus Far

Exodus: The Story Thus Far

The Exodus story started back towards the end of 2010. The client (let's call him Dave), approached me to help him design an exo chassis car. Dave has owned and built a number of Lotus 7 style clubmans and has always been keen on the Ariel Atom. Given the Atom's aren't registerable in Australia, and the fact that Dave was due for a project of his own, he decided to build an exo car along similar lines. Dave approached us with some pics of the Atom and the Warner R4 as inspiration for this project and it looked like a great opportunity to get involved in a clean sheet vehicle design. As with many of our client's projects, this was to be a case of designing and building on the go, blended with the use of CAD and FEA tools in parallel to make sure the design is on the right track, both from a styling and engineering point of view. As nice as it would be to design a complete car on the CAD before cutting any steel, for projects such as this, it's a time consuming exercise when you don't have
